The People of Nunavut Make Us Who We Are

Keewatin Air recognizes that it is the people of Nunavut who make us who we are. We believe that by working to ensure that residents prosper through health care and education and employment opportunities, we can strengthen Nunavut and its relationship with Keewatin Air LP.

We sponsor and donate to the residents of Nunavut through the following:

Northern Aviation Scholarship

You can get up to $5,000 to help pay for your aviation education!

Every year, residents of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut pursuing an aviation-related career in the North can each receive one of 15 $5,000 scholarships from a fund sponsored by the Nunavut Department of Economic Development and Transportation, NWT Department of Transportation, Discovery Air, Keewatin Air, and North-Wright Airways.

The scholarships are offered to full-time residents of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (minimum two-year residency – a combination of continuous residency in both territories would be accepted to meet the residency requirement) pursuing full-time aviation-related studies. The studies can be related to airline or airport operations or management, aircraft maintenance and pilot training.

The Nunavut Department of Economic Development and Transportation sponsors six scholarships, the NWT Department of Transportation contributes six scholarships, while Keewatin Air, North-Wright Airways, and Discovery Air provide one scholarship each.

  • Resident of Nunavut (living in Nunavut/NWT for the last two years)
  • Pursuing full-time training for an aviation-related career
  • Planning to work in Nunavut/NWT after completion of the training
